- Aerates water as it filters and then deposits aerated water deeper into the pond, which keeps the entire water column aerated. Many ponds do not have good healthy air near the bottom, which is essential for good pond health.
- The filter media chamber is roughly 4 inches in diameter by 8.5 inches deep. It can accept most filter media, such as filter pads, sponges, bio-balls, carbon, and all-in-one filter media solutions. Very fine debris can be filtered from the water with finer media, such as 100-micron filter pads. However, these finer pads will need to be changed more often.
- Minimum Water Depth: 37.5 inches (with adjustable pipe), 22 inches (without adjustable pipe). Maximum Water Depth: 49.25 inches (with only adjustable pipe). Flexible Installation: Includes SCH 40 PVC adjustable pipe that can be custom cut for different water levels. Accepts 1-inch PVC for further customization. Includes basket to place stand in to help the skimmer be more stable.

Black Hole Skimmers for Ponds
Black Hole Skimmers are different from other pond surface skimmers. We made a new kind of skimmer that cleans all the water in your pond and also aerates the water as it enters the skimmer. It's easy to take care of and safe for all fish and plants.
Our skimmer has a special funnel that sits just under the water's surface. It pulls water from the top, making water from the bottom rise up to take its place. This brings up any floating debris, which the skimmer then catches. This helps keep the water in your pond clean and clear.
The skimmer also makes the water better for fish and plants by adding more air. Water near the top has more air in it naturally because it's closer to the air above the pond. Our skimmer adds even more air to the water as it passes through. This water, which is now full of air, is then spread out to the lower parts of the pond, which helps the fish and plants live longer and healthier.
Our pond skimmers have a filter media chamber that allows the use different types of filter media, such as sponges, filter pads, floss, cut to size Matala pads, and are innovative cone screen. This means you can use the skimmer to target different issues in your pond. The tall body skimmer even allows for 4” filter socks, and comes with a 800 micron sock that is great for removing duckweed from the surface of your pond.
It's easy and quick to change the media in our pond skimmers. Just twist the skimmer off its mount, open the chamber, take out the old media, wash it or put in new media, and then put the skimmer back on its mount. This makes it easy to fix problems in your pond quickly.
We made the GuppyGuard and GuppyGuard Topper to keep pond inhabitants from getting into the skimmer. If a baby does get into the skimmer, there's enough space in the filter chamber to keep it safe for a while.
